Booking Contract / Studio rules


1. Definitions & General Terms

For the purposes of this and future agreements, the term “Studio” refers to the location at 14539 Blythe Street, Los Angeles 91402. In like manner, the term “Client” refers to the person or company in communication booking the studio and sending the deposit.

The Client agrees to pay for studio time at the rate in effect at the time of booking. A specified deposit is required to book any session. Session time is not held until a deposit is sent. Any outstanding balances must be paid in full before leaving the studio. Unpaid balances beyond 24 hours will incur a late fee of $20 per day until fully paid.


2. Payment, Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

  • 50% of the deposit is refundable if canceled outside of 24 hours from the session start.

  • 100% of the deposit will be kept if canceled within 24 hours of the session start.

  • Rescheduling is allowed one time if requested at least 24 hours before the session. Deposits may be transferred to the new session date but are non-refundable if rescheduling occurs within 24 hours of the original booking time.

Sessions booked without an engineer must be paid in full in advance or upon arrival. (deposit still required). A valid government ID is required upon arrival. Information is saved for the duration of the session. Extensions on session time may be requested, pending studio availability, and must be paid for before leaving the studio. Sessions booked online will require upload of a valid ID and be paid in full with Credit Card.


3. Studio Usage & Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for any damage caused to the studio’s equipment, furniture, or facilities beyond normal wear and tear by themselves or anyone in their party. The Client agrees to compensate the Studio for the full repair or replacement cost of any damaged or stolen items.


4. Parking Rules

Strict parking rules apply. Please see the parking map on the next page:

  • Green-marked spaces are reserved for the studio (limit: two cars).

  • Yellow-highlighted spots may be used as overflow.

  • Do NOT park in red-marked spaces.


5. Session Time Policy

Your session is scheduled for a specific start time. Session time starts at the booked time, not upon arrival.

  • If the Client arrives late, they are still responsible for full payment of the scheduled time (including engineer fees, if applicable).

  • Engineers do not have authority to negotiate booking times.


6. Smoking Policy

  • The Studio is 4/20 friendly.

  • Tobacco/cigarettes must be smoked outside in the parking lot.

  • Any violation will result in a $100 cleaning fee to remove odor/equipment contamination.


7. File Handling & Data Privacy

All session recordings and files remain the property of The Kitchen Recording Studio until full payment has been received. The Studio is not responsible for any files left on Studio computers. All files will be permanently deleted after the session. Clients must bring a hard drive or provide an email address to receive session data. Our in-house engineers may store session files but are not responsible for their loss. 


8. Force Majeure Clause

The Studio shall not be held liable for session cancellations or delays due to unforeseen circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to natural disasters, power outages, or equipment failure. In such cases, the Client will have the option to reschedule without penalty.


9. Right to Refuse Service Clause

The Studio reserves the right to refuse service to any Client who fails to comply with these terms, engages in disruptive or disrespectful behavior, or otherwise violates studio policies.


10. Liability Disclaimer

The Client releases The Kitchen Recording Studio from liability for harm, damage, or theft of personal property, equipment, or persons while on Studio grounds. The Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless The Kitchen Recording Studio and its staff against any claims, damages, or liabilities resulting from Client’s actions, negligence, or violations of this agreement.


11. Agreement & Confirmation

By sending a deposit, reserving studio time, or receiving door codes, the Client confirms they have read, understand, and agree to all terms and conditions.
