Can I bring my own engineer?
Absolutely. You’re welcome to bring your own engineer to run the session. A staff member will be on-site to get them set up and remain available by phone if any technical issues come up. Please note: The studio is not responsible for lost time due to outside engineers being unfamiliar with our gear or setup. Any delays not caused by faults in studio equipment are the responsibility of the session’s engineer.
What happens if I’m late?
Your session begins at the scheduled start time—not upon arrival. If you’re running late, please still let us know, but keep in mind you’ll be billed for the full duration of your booking, including any time missed. Failure to communicate a late arrival may result in the engineer leaving after 1 hour, and the session being considered a no-show. In that case, the session is non-refundable and non-reschedulable.Our engineers aren’t able to adjust or extend session times, so arriving on time ensures you get the most out of your session.
Is food/drink allowed?
Yes—we have a lobby with a fridge, microwave, and water dispenser for your convenience. You’re welcome to eat or drink in the common areas or in the studio, but no food or drink is allowed on or near the studio desk, gear, or equipment racks. Clients will be held financially responsible for any damage caused by spills or equipment contamination. Please help us keep the space clean and the gear safe.
Can I smoke in the studio?
Yes—The Kitchen is 4/20 friendly. However, no blunt rolling or ash is allowed on or near the desk or studio equipment under any circumstances. Tobacco and cigarettes are strictly prohibited inside the studio. Anyone caught smoking tobacco indoors will be charged a $100 cleaning fee and will not be welcome back. Please use the parking lot for any tobacco use.
Do you allow walk-ins?
No – all sessions are by appointment only.
How do I get my session files?
We encourage all clients to bring a hard drive to the studio to transfer files directly. We can also send files via WeTransfer (up to 2GB) if an email is provided.
Please note: We are not responsible for sending files after your session ends. Be sure to leave enough time during your booked session to transfer or receive your files. Once the session is over, files may no longer be accessible.
Can I rent the studio overnight?
Yes! The Kitchen operates 24/7 by appointment. Overnight sessions are welcome, but must be scheduled in advance so we can ensure a staff member is available to open and prepare the space. We kindly ask that you avoid last-minute late-night booking requests—we love what we do, but we don’t live at the studio. Please respect our team’s time by booking with notice. There is always a chance a staff member is at the studio and can set up so feel free to still inquire.
Is mixing and mastering included in my session?
Studio time includes access to the space, equipment, and (if selected) an engineer for tracking and basic session support. Mixing and mastering are not included by default and are billed separately. If you’d like to have your music mixed or mastered, please let us know in advance so we can schedule time accordingly and provide a quote based on the scope of your project. Mixing to us is better without hourly pressure, we like to deliver the best end result, and include revisions.
